The AGM 2007 will be held on Thursday 26 April at 7:30pm in the Watercress Beds Centre. After the business part of the meeting, at 8:00pm we will be very pleased to welcome Richard Roslyn, Head Gardener from Blewbury Hall. A talk illustrated by slides will take us round this beautiful garden, which is often open to the public – dates will be available. Refreshments will be served, more details and advertising nearer the date, but we do recommend that you make a note of this in your diaries.
We will be holding our Annual Plant Sale on Saturday 12 May, we do rely on you all to support this event. You usually do, and as you know the proceeds from this day help us to promote the Annual Show. Tea and cakes are available, a raffle will be run and possibly a cake stall. Another important entry for your diary.
The Annual Village Show will be held on Monday 27 August, last year your support with the entries was poor, where were you all? (I was away with the family! The Ed.) The entries that were displayed were of a very high standard, and your attendance in the afternoon was very good, but without your entries the Show cannot sparkle. So please USE US OR LOSE US. The photographic competition this year will be a photograph of a bridge or bridges. Good Luck.
About the 25 August 2007. Last year we advertised that we would organise a Pig Roast, Junior Disco, Bar facilities on the Saturday evening before the Monday Show. Somewhere between advertising and the date, we decided to cancel the arrangements, however we did not advertise this fact, for which, if you did walk up to the Recreation Ground, we are very sorry. This year we are hoping to do much better, same plan as last year. If you would like to run some type of stall for your charity or committee, please start to make plans. We hope the bar will be open at 6:00pm, eating at 6:30pm. Please get in touch if you have any ideas.
