Wallingford LETS
Are you thinking of doing something new in 2007? Then find out more about LETS. It could save you money, use your skills and bring you new friends? LETS is short for Local Exchange Trading Scheme. The Wallingford group draws members from a wide area including Ewelme, Benson, Goring and Streatley, Crowmarsh, Berinsfield, Didcot and Shillingford. We trade in skills and labour. Some members mend fences, garden, make cakes, or give lifts to and from the airport and others are able to sort out that irritating computer problem. Many members have helped out with the preparations for moving house. These are just a very few examples of the skills and help on offer. We pay with castles. And by doing jobs for others we earn castles based on the time spent doing the job. It is rather like a baby sitting circle where tokens are used. We also have social events such as regular walks followed by a pub lunch, and have organised quiz evenings, treasure hunts and a canal trip by horse drawn barge. If you have access to the web see what we offer in full colour
